The multi-award winning I-PACE is the most high-tech Jaguar ever produced, featuring a fully-electric powertrain fitted with two electric motors.
The I-Pace is also Jaguar’s first vehicle to include the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, capable of over-the-air software updates, and uses artificial intelligence to adapt to a driver’s personal preferences, ensuring driving and infotainment settings are matched to each individual using the car.
The I-PACE also has a suite of smart range-optimising technologies including a battery pre-conditioning system which, when plugged in, automatically increases or lowers the temperature of the battery to maximise range before driving away.
Underneath the aluminium bodywork resides a state-of-the-art 90kWh lithium-ion battery which delivers 0-100km/h in 4.8sec (0-60mph in 4.5sec) with range of up to 470km/292 miles (WLTP cycle). Spread below the cabin floor its sits entirely within the car’s wheelbase for a claimed 50:50 weight distribution. It drives a lightweight permanent-magnet electric motor on each axle.
The I-PACE is able to achieve a 0-80 percent battery charge in 40 minutes (100kW DC), while home charging with an approved Jaguar AC wall box (7kW) will achieve the same state of charge in just over ten hours – ideal for the overnight charging used by the majority of buyers.
Owning the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE is now easier than ever before thanks to a pair of features focusing on use and cost; the new online range calculator and the Go I-PACE app. The new online range calculator gives users greater insight into the effects that factors such as wheel size, temperature and other features have on the vehicle’s maximum range of 292 miles (WLTP). By measuring daily use in any car, the Go I-PACE app, for iPhone or Android, allows would-be buyers to understand how the I-PACE would fit into their lives. The app calculates potential cost savings, how much battery would have been used per trip and the number of full charges that would be required to cover the cumulative distance driven, all by tracking individual user journey data via the location services on a smartphone.
The I-PACE’s dramatic, cab-forward profile, short overhangs and taut, muscular haunches give it a sense of drama which set it apart from other SUVs. The spacious interior – enabled by the bespoke electric vehicle architecture – is finished with beautiful premium details and exacting Jaguar craftsmanship. Rear passengers reap the benefits of the ‘cab-forward’ design and lengthy wheelbase too. The boot has a very useful 656 litre capacity, while under the bonnet there’s an additional small 27-litre storage space.
