Urbaser shares important messages with digital screens

Urbaser has been utilising digital display screens installed on the sides on its refuse collection vehicles to share key messages across the London Borough of Waltham Forest and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

Urbaser is using the screens to help its local authority partners in these areas to provide awareness about the risks associated with COVID-19, and in particular the different ways to help prevent the spread of the virus.

The large cinematic screens, which are fully compliant with both TfL (Transport for London) and VOSA, enable easy and safe interaction with local communities. Ordinarily the digital screens are used to promote local government services, recycling initiatives, garden waste services or the advertising of local events and good causes. They are also used to target specific areas using geo-located messages.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, these screens have been repurposed to display NHS handwashing ‘How To’ videos, as well as promoting up-to-date Self Isolation guidance and the UK Government’s ‘Stay Home, Save Lives’ message.

Urbaser continues to work with councils in providing awareness and key messages; to assist with the flattening the curve of the outbreak and to keep the communities we work in safe and healthy.
