Arval completes the acquisition of Athlon and becomes a co-leader in long-term vehicle leasing

Arval has completed the acquisition of Athlon, formerly a subsidiary of the Mercedes-Benz Group, in line with the previously announced timeline.

Following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals, this transaction brings the combined fleet to 2.3 million vehicles and creates a European co-leader in long-term vehicle leasing. This new milestone brings together two recognised mobility experts to provide customers across Europe with the best of their combined expertise and know-how, through enhanced support, expanded capabilities, and increasingly innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.

Alain van Groenendael, CEO of Arval, commented: “This acquisition marks a major milestone in Arval’s history. I am particularly pleased to welcome Athlon’s employees to the Arval Group. Together, we are combining the strengths of our two organisations to offer our customers greater expertise, proximity, and innovation, while preserving the quality of service and trusted relationships that are the hallmark of both Arval and Athlon.”
