Bri-Stor Systems secures Halfords contract for 60 more Power360 vehicles – delivering fuel savings and resilience in a challenging tyre market

Bri-Stor Systems, part of The HEX Group, has secured a new contract to convert 60 additional Halfords mobile tyre fitting vehicles using its game-changing Power360 lithium- technology.

This latest investment reinforces Halfords’ commitment to combining sustainability with service efficiency. By cutting emissions, reducing fuel use, and lowering maintenance requirements, Power360 is helping to build a fleet that is leaner, greener, and ready to meet the needs of tomorrow’s customers.

Following a two-year trial and successful first wave of Power360-equipped vans, Halfords reported fuel savings of more than 30%, with annual CO₂ reductions of over 1,200 tonnes predicted across the fleet of 280 vehicles. By eliminating engine idling during tyre-fitting operations, Power360 not only reduces fuel costs but also lowers maintenance requirements and provides a quieter, cleaner service for customers.

Industry-leading collaboration

Andrew Goodwin, Sales and Marketing Director at Bri-Stor Systems, said: “This contract proves that sustainable technology isn’t just about emissions – it’s about hard commercial benefits too, with whole life cost savings more than offsetting the higher cost of green technology. Power360 helps fleets reduce in-life fuel costs from day one, extend vehicle life and futureproof their fleet, with added benefits of solid-state power systems and dual-life potential. We believe this sustainable tyre van is the model for every tyre fleet operator looking to stay competitive in tough times.”

Karl Baker, Director of Operations at Halfords Mobile Expert, added: “Our investment in 60 more Power360-equipped vehicles is based on hard evidence. The trials proved that lithium-powered systems deliver real-world savings on fuel, emissions and maintenance – all while improving the customer experience. At a time when every cost counts, this technology is helping us build a fleet that’s leaner, greener and fit for the future.”

Smarter technology for a sustainable future

The Power360 system – developed in partnership with Portable Power Technology and integrated with tyre equipment from Rema Tip Top – uses a high-density lithium energy pack recharged as the vehicle moves between jobs.  Fleet managers also benefit from remote monitoring, offering insights into energy use, system health and idling penalties.

With vehicle manufacturers phasing out combustion engines, and customer expectations for greener service rising, Power360 provides the stepping stone fleets need to transition into a more sustainable future – while making tangible savings today.
